SHUDDHI

1. A few weeks ago, I received a
VHP brochure from a friend of mine in Hyderabad, India. Inside
this brochure is an urgent appeal by Shri Ashok Singhal, Working
President of VHP. Shri Singhal has issued a call to every Hindu to
become a VISHISHT AAJIWAN HITACHANTAK (Special Life Well-wisher)
of VHP by contributing Rs 10,000 only once in life. VHP will use
this money to create at least 10,000 full-time, well-trained,
committed Hindu Missionaries during the course of coming three
years, to reach every nook & corner of the country. This will
not only neutralise the conversion crisis that is threatening to
swallow up the Hindu society but will also re-establish the
spiritual & moral glory of Hinduism.
2. The sum of Rs 10,000 (approx $300) seems like a practical
figure to me, within the reach of many, if not most Hindus in the
US and other overseas areas. Ten thousand Hindus contributing Rs
10,000 each, make up a sum of rupees one crore. If one hundred
thousand Hindus contribute Rs 10,000 each, a sum of ten crore
rupees can be raised. Now this is a number that gets the attention
& can put the "Reconversion To Hinduism" progam on
the Front Burner.
3. I feel that we Hindus owe to ourselves the religious duty to
contribute Rs 10,000 each towards the Hindu Missionary Effort. I
am aware that 10,000 Hindu Missionaries is a very small number
compared to what our adversaries have. At least 80,000 Christian
missionaries & 100,000 Moslem Tabligis are operating in India
& both groups are backed with tons of money from Western
countries & with Petro-dollars from Arabian countries. But
while comparing these numbers, we have to understand that we
Hindus are new at this "Conversion" business & have
completely neglected it in previous centuries. Thus we are late
starters, but we can catch up & probably beat our adversaries
at their own proselytism game. Our missionary army is bound to
grow in size if we Hindus back it up with resolute effort &
solid contributions of our money.
4. Missionary effort is not completely foreign to Hinduism. Swami
Shraddanand had reconverted 100,000 Neo-Moslems back to Hinduism
in 1920 through his process of "Shuddhi." Thus Shuddhi
is an acceptable Hindu procedure, now well-established, & well
within the capability of the Hindu Parivar, only if we Hindus gird
up our loins & stand up to the challenges of the religions of
exclusivity (in reality these clay-footed exclusivity creeds are
imperialistic ideologies rather than religions & these ZALIMS
have shed lot of blood of the Non-Christians & Non-Moslems
over the centuries in several continents). An example of recent
Hindu success: Raja Dilip Singh Judeo reconverted 50,000 Christian
Vanavasis back to Hinduism (Source: Hinduism Today dated approx
May-July 1996). VHP, in 1996, reconverted 19000 Christians &
1000 Moslems back to Hinduism. These are significant numbers
albeit much much smaller than the 500,000 Hindus that we are
losing to Christianity & Islam annually. This DISPARITY in
conversion numbers clearly indicates the necessity for us Hindus
to step up our Hindu Missionary Effort.
5. I do not want to sound like a prophet of doom but the threat to
us Hindus is mortal & absolutely real. Any Hindu who ignores
it or downgrades it is, in my view, living in a fool's paradise.
Take note of this: The Islamic Conference at Mecca launched a
massive program to multiply Moslem population in India through the
conversion of weaker sections of the Hindu Society (Harijans) with
usage of Petro-dollars. As a result of this program, open calls
are being issued by the Mullahs inside the mosques of India to
Islamicise India. In one village of Meenakshipuram (Tamil Naidu),
the entire Harijan population was converted to Islam. This solid
Islamic success has emboldened the Islamic leadership & now
open cries of "Repeating Meenakshipuram" are echoing
around the mosques in India. Inside the mosques, Moslem Mullahs
are openly preaching a cult of larger Moslem families as an
article of religious duty of every Moslem. Add to this the large
scale infiltration of illegal Moslems from Bangladesh &
Pakistan into India which is creating large pockets of Moslem
Majority districts in India. As a good measure to this, the
polygamy, proselytism, opposition to family planning in the name
of Islam are also contributing to the development of a Demographic
Moslem Bomb in India. Through these various techniques of Islamic
Jehad against the Kafir Hindu of India, the Moslems are increasing
their numbers geometrically & as soon as they come close to
50% of the population, cries for declaring India as an Islamic
State (as it happened in the case of Malaysia) will start roaring
loudly. And the decimation of the Kafir Hindu will follow soon
after. They are being assisted in this effort by the Christians
who are also busy doing their damnest best to do us Hindus in.
6. Looking at the broad picture, we Hindus do not have Petro-dollars
to support our Hindu Missionary Effort nor do we have the tons of
Western Money that the Christian Missionaries receive. We Hindus
are entirely on our own & we have to raise money entirely
through our savings & sacrifices to save Hinduism from utter
doom & we may have to eat grass to do it. At this point in
time it seems to me, that we Hindus do not have too many options
before us for our survival. Reconversion to Hinduism seems to me
to be a good option & a good bet for Hindus. What is the take
of other Hindus on this? I would like to read the reaction of
other Hindus on this.
7. I want to write a strong letter of support to Shri Ashok
Singhal & indicate our willingness to contribute Rs 10,000
each, but before I do that, I want to find out how other Hindu
Brothers & Sisters feel about it.
